Georgetown - U.S. Senator Jim Bunning will be visiting Georgetown on Monday, August 18 to be the special guest at a fundraiser for Scott County's state Senator, Damon Thayer.

 The event will be held from 5-7 pm at the home of  jockey Chris McCarron.  Dinner will be provided. More details to come!!

 This will be Senator Thayer's only Scott County fundraiser this election year.  With Bunning a member of baseball's Hall of Fame and McCarron in horse racing's Hall of Fame, it will be an opportunity to meet two great sportsmen and a great way to help Senator Thayer build his campaign fund for the fall election campaign.

District 17

Senator Thayer represents the 17^th District which includes Owen, Scott, Grant, and Southern Kenton County. Along with being chairman of the State and Local Government Committee, Senator Thayer sits on the Transportation Committee, Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, and Licensing and Occupations Committee. He is Senate Chairman of the Horse Farming Subcommittee and the Task Force on Elections and Constitutional Amendments.
